HOW TO SETUP EUDORA
1: Download and Install Eudora Lite for Windows 95
You can download Eudora from FYI by clicking here. After the program is
downloaded which should take from 15 minutes to 45 minutes depending on
your connection, goto Start, Run. Click the Browse button and
goto the location on your hard drive where you saved. Double click
the eul305.exe file and click OK.
Eudora will now run through the Setup Wizard. You will be asked where
you want to install Eudora. Use the default setting c:\eudora.
Install the 32 bit version of Eudora which is the default.
Step 2: Configure Eudora
Click Start, Programs, Eudora. Eudora will now load
and bring up the Options window.
In the Getting Started section, enter username@mail.fyi.net
for the POP Account. For Real Name, enter the way you wish your name to
appear when you send e-mail.
Under Personal Information, the Return Address should be
username@fyi.net.
In the Hosts section for the SMPT box, type mail.fyi.net.
Leave the Ph and finger boxes blank.
Under Checking Mail, check the following: Send on
check, Save Password, and Delete mail from server after 5 days. In
Authentication Style, 'Passwords' IS dotted.
In Sending Mail, set the Domain to add to unqualified
addresses to fyi.net and OK out of Options.
Step 3: Checking and Sending Mail.
To check e-mail, goto the File menu, Check Mail. This will initiate
connection to our mail server and retrieve any new messages that
you may have.
To send a message, click Message menu, New Message. In the To:
line, enter the address of the person to receive the message. The
Subject: line is where you enter the messages subject, and the CC,
BCC lines are for additional e-mail recipients.
